‘The Getback band’ has performed
internationally for the past few years earning great reviews at
venues in the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium to name
a few. They have starred at International Beatle week in Liverpool,
including the famous Cavern Club and at the Mathew Street festival.
Fox Amoore is a renowned composer who
is generally recognised as the foremost keyboard player of his generation.
He developed his progressive keyboard writing skills at an early
age and has been plying professionally since the age of just 14!
He joined The GetBack Band in August
2005 and 3 weeks later was playing with them on their successful
International Beatle week tour in Liverpool! This included his first
performance at The Cavern Club, playing there on his 21st birthday!
Kenny Laine, on Bass, has been a Beatles
fan as long as he can remember and recalls being at the front of
the crowd when Paul McCartney played his home town of Glasgow in
the early 70’s. Kenny says that every song was a show stopper
and that the crowd were still cheering ‘Yesterday’ halfway
through the next song! Fab !
Kenny is really enjoying this experience
and hopes you enjoy the show as much as he does!!! Watching Kenny
play demonstrates his immense talent and love for the music.
Neal Porteous on drums was born in Lanark,
Scotland, way back in 1976. Neal has been a Beatles fan since he
was a boy. He was playing with Greenock based band Merika, recording
original material and playing various gigs in the UK and has even
played at T in the Park before being asked to join The Getback band
last year.
Musical influences have been The Beatles
and in particularly Paul McCartney. Neal is an enthusiastic and
versatile drummer.
Neil Diment, has built a reputation
as both an innovative session guitar player and, with his own band,
The Watershed, as a creative songwriter and singer.
As a session player he has played as
a product demonstrator for Aria & Gretsch at the SECC and for
Design Award winners Sonus Amplifiers at the NECC and Frankfurt
Messehalle Music Live shows. Acts he has played for have supported
The Average White Band and Tommy Emmanuel and he has done a live
guest appearance with reggae legend Mikey Dread.
Heavily influenced By The Beatles as
a child and Wings as a teenager he is enjoying getting to grips
with the riffs of George, John, Paul, Denny, Jimmy & Hamish.
Dougie ‘Macca’ Orr has performed
internationally since reaching the final of the UKs premier talent
show – ‘Stars in your Eyes’. The Beatles have
been a major influence on him since early childhood. A talented
musician in his own right, he plays Base and rhythm guitar as well
as a bit of keyboard. Anyone who has seen Dougie perform with tell
you that as well as an incredible singer he is an amazing showman
on stage!
The band is managed by Iain Armour (senior)
who also acts as Road & Stage Manager. Sound engineer is the
highly rated Gerry – AKA Jetlag!
